COLOR COATS

B C E F L M P R S V W

 

BI-COLOR  : solid color and white, tabby and white, tortoiseshell and white, pointed and white , any color and white.

BLACK : dense coal black, sound from roots to tip of fur. Free from any tinge of rust on tips or smoke undercoat.

BLUE : blue with warm fawn undertones, shading almost imperceptibly to a slightly lighter blue on the underparts.

BLUE-CREAM : blue with patches of solid cream.

BROWN : rich, warm, seal brown. 

CAMEO :  or RED SILVER

DILUTE CAMEO : or CREAM SILVER

CALICO : white coat with unbrindled patches of black and red, of chocolate and red , of lilac and cream ... white predominant on underparts.

DILUTE CALICO : white with unbrindled patches of blue and cream. As a preferred minimum the cat should have white feet, legs, undersides, chest, and muzzle.

CHAMPAGNE : warm honey beige, shading to a pale gold tan underside. Slight darkening on ears and face permissible but lesser shading preferred.

CHESTNUT : rich chestnut brown, sound throughout.

CHOCOLATE : rich, warm chocolate-brown.

CINNAMON : a light reddish brown, distinctly warmer and lighter than chestnut, sound and even throughout.

CREAM : one level shade of buff cream without markings.

EBONY : dense coal black, sound from roots to tip of fur. Free from any tinge of rust on tips or smoke undercoat.

EBONY SILVER : black spotting on a pale silver/white agouti ground.

FAWN : coat warm rose-beige, ticked with light cocoa brown, the extreme outer tip to be the darkest, with blush beige undercoat. Tail tipped with light cocoa brown. The underside and inside of legs to be a tint to harmonize with the main color.

LAVENDER : frosty-grey with a pinkish tone, sound and even throughout.

LILAC : rich, warm lavender with a pinkish tone, sound and even throughout.

MlKE (Tri-Color) : black, red, and white (red areas may have tabby striping or spotting).

PLATINUM : pale, silvery gray with pale fawn undertones, shading almost imperceptibly to a slightly lighter hue on the underparts, but otherwise without shadings, barring or markings of any kind.

RED : deep, rich, clear, brilliant red or warm glowing red.

RUDDY: ground color burnt-sienna, ticked with various shades of darker brown or black; the extreme outer tip to be the darkest. Tail tipped with black. The underside and inside of legs to be a tint to harmonize with the ground color.

SABLE : a rich, warm, sable brown; shading almost imperceptibly to a slightly lighter hue on the underparts but otherwise without shadings, barring, or markings of any kind.

VAN : is the term for a cat who is white with the additional colored portions confined to the head, tail and legs. One or two small portions of color on the body are allowable.

SILVER COATS

BLUE SILVER : undercoat white with a mantle of blue tipping shading down from sides, face and tail from dark on the ridge to white on the chin, chest, underside and under the tail.

CHESTNUT SILVER : undercoat white with a mantle of chestnut tipping shading down from sides, face and tail from dark on the ridge to white on the chin, chest, underside and under the tail.

CHINCHILLA SILVER : undercoat pure white. Coat on back, flanks, head, and tail sufficiently tipped with black to give the characteristic sparkling silver appearance.

BLUE CHINCHILLA SILVER : undercoat pure white. Coat on back, flanks and tail sufficiently tipped with blue to give the characteristic sparkling silver appearance.

CHOCOLATE SILVER : chocolate spotting on a white agouti ground.

CINNAMON SILVER : undercoat white with a mantle of cinnamon tipping shading down from sides, face and tail from dark on the ridge to white on the chin, chest, underside and under the tail.

CREAM SILVER or DILUTE  CAMEO : undercoat white with a mantle of cream tipping shading down from sides, face and tail from dark on the ridge to white on the chin, chest, underside and under the tail.

EBONY SILVER : undercoat white with a mantle of black tipping shading down from sides, face and tail from dark on the ridge to white on the chin, chest, underside and under the tail.

FAWN SILVER : undercoat white with a mantle of fawn tipping shading down from sides, face and tail from dark on the ridge to white on the chin, chest, underside and under the tail.

LAVENDER SILVER : lavender spotting on a white agouti ground.

RED SILVER or CAMEO : undercoat white with a mantle of red tipping shading down from sides, face and tail from dark on the ridge to white on the chin, chest, underside and under the tail. Legs to be the same tone as the face.

 

 

 

CREAM CHINCHILLA or SHELL CREAM : undercoat white, the coat on the back, flanks, head and tail to be lightly tipped with cream. Face and legs may be lightly shaded with tipping. Frill, ear tufts, stomach and chest, white.

GOLDEN CHINCHILLA : undercoat rich warm cream. Coat on back, flanks, head, and tail sufficiently tipped with black to give golden appearance

RED CHINCHILLA or SHELL CAMEO : undercoat white, the coat on back, flanks, head, and tail to be sufficiently tipped with red to give the characteristic sparkling appearance. Face and legs may be very slightly shaded with tipping. Chin, ear tufts, stomach, and chest white.  

 

 

SHADED COATS

 

SHADED : undercoat white with a mantle of colored tipping. Points and mask show shading.

SHADED BLUE-CREAM : undercoat white. Mantle of blue and cream shading down the sides, face and tail. Frill, ear tufts, stomach and chest, white to lightly tipped. The general effect to be much darker than the shell blue-cream.

SHADED CREAM or CREAM SHADED : undercoat white with a mantle of cream shading down the sides, face and tail. Frill, ear tufts, stomach and chest, white.

SHADED CAMEO or RED SHADED : undercoat white with a mantle of red tipping shading down the sides, face, and tail from dark on the ridge to white on the chin, chest, stomach, and under the tail.

SHADED GOLDEN : undercoat rich warm cream with a mantle of black tipping shading down from the sides, face, and tail from dark on the ridge to cream on the chin, chest, stomach, and under the tail

SHADED SILVER : undercoat white with a mantle of black tipping shading down from sides, face, and tail from dark on the ridge to white on the chin, chest, stomach, and under the tail.

SMOKE : white undercoat, deeply tipped with color. Points and mask appear solidly colored, with narrow band of white at base of hairs next to skin which may be seen only when fur is parted

BLACK SMOKE : white undercoat, deeply tipped with black. Cat in repose appears black. In motion the white undercoat is clearly apparent.

CAMEO SMOKE or RED  SMOKE : white undercoat, deeply tipped with red. Cat in repose appears red. In motion the white undercoat is clearly apparent.

CHOCOLATE SMOKE : white undercoat, deeply tipped with chocolate. Cat in repose appears chocolate. In motion the white undercoat is clearly apparent.

CREAM SMOKE : white undercoat, deeply tipped with cream. Cat in repose appears cream. In motion the white undercoat is clearly apparent.

FAWN SMOKE : white undercoat, deeply tipped with fawn. Cat in repose appears fawn. In motion the white undercoat is clearly apparent. Points and mask fawn with narrow band of white at base of hairs which may be seen only when fur is parted.

CLASSIC TABBY PATTERN : markings dense, clearly defined, and broad. Legs evenly barred with bracelets coming up to meet the body markings. Tail evenly ringed. Several unbroken necklaces on neck and upper chest, the more the better.

BLUE TABBY : ground color pale bluish ivory. Markings a very deep blue affording a good contrast with ground color. Warm fawn overtones or patina over the whole.

BLUE PATCHED TABBY : ground color, including lips and chin, pale bluish ivory with classic or mackerel tabby markings of very deep blue affording a good contrast with ground color. Patches of cream clearly defined on both body and extremities; a blaze of cream on the face is desirable. Warm fawn overtones or patina over the whole.

BLUE TABBY AND WHITE (classic, mackerel) : white with portions of blue tabby.

BLUE PATCHED TABBY AND WHITE : white with portions of blue patched tabby and white.

BLUE-SILVER TABBY (classic, mackerel, spotted) : ground color pale, bluish silver. Markings a deep blue affording a good contrast with ground color.

BROWN TABBY (classic, mackerel) : ground color brilliant coppery brown. Markings dense black.

BROWN PATCHED TABBY : ground color brilliant coppery brown with classic or mackerel tabby markings of dense black with patches of red and/or cream clearly defined on both body and extremities; a blaze of red and/or cream on the face is desirable.

BROWN TABBY AND WHITE (classic, mackerel) : white with portions of brown tabby.

BROWN SPOTTED TABY or TAWNY : black or dark brown spotting on a ruddy or bronze agouti ground.

CAMEO TABBY or  RED SILVER TABBY (classic, mackerel) : ground color off-white. Markings red.

CAMEO TABBY AND WHITE (classic, mackerel) : white with portions of cameo tabby

CHESTNUT TABBY or CHOCOLATE TABBY : ground color warm fawn. Markings are rich chestnut.

CHESTNUT SILVER TABBY : ground color, including lips and chin, a snowy silver. Markings rich chestnut.

CHOCOLATE SILVER TABBY : ground color, including lips and chin, is silver. Markings rich chestnut.

CINNAMON TABBY : skin ground color, including lips and chin, a pale, warm honey, markings a dense cinnamon, affording a good contrast with skin ground color.

CINNAMON-SILVER TABBY : skin ground color, including lips and chin, a pale glistening silver. Markings dense cinnamon.

CHOCOLATE TABBY : or CHESTNUT TABBY

CREAM TABBY (classic, mackerel, spotted) : ground color very pale cream. Markings of buff or cream sufficiently darker than the ground color to afford good contrast but remaining within the dilute color range.

CREAM SILVER TABBY (classic, mackerel, spotted) : ground color off-white. Markings cream

CREAM TABBY AND WHITE (classic, mackerel) : white with portions of cream tabby

EBONY TABBY : ground color brilliant coppery brown. Markings dense black.

EBONY SILVER TABBY : ground color, including lips and chin, pale clear silver. Markings dense black.

FAWN TABBY : skin ground color, pale ivory, markings dense fawn, affording good contrast with skin ground color

FAWN SILVER TABBY : ground color, including lips and chin, pale glistening silver. Markings dense fawn.

LAVENDER TABBY : skin ground color is pale lavender. Markings are a rich lavender, affording a good contrast with skin ground color.

LAVENDER SILVER TABBY : ground color, including lips and chin, a cold clear silver. Markings sound lavender.

LILAC TABBY (classic, mackerel) : ground color pale frosty lavender with a pinkish patina. Tabby markings a darker lavender affording sufficient contrast with ground color. Lips and chin the same color as rings around the eyes.

LILAC PATCHED TABBY (classic, mackerel) : ground color pale frosty lavender with a pinkish patina. Tabby markings a darker lavender affording sufficient contrast with ground color with patches or softly intermingled areas of cream. Lips and chin the same color as rings around the eyes.

MACKEREL TABBY PATTERN : markings dense, clearly defined, and all narrow pencillings. Legs evenly barred with narrow bracelets coming up to meet the body markings. Tail barred. Necklaces on neck and chest distinct, like so many chains.

PATCHED TABBY : a patched tabby (torbie) is an established silver, brown, or blue tabby with patches of red and/or cream.

RED TABBY : ground color creamy red or red  Tabby markings range  warm red , rich red ,deep auburn.

RED TABBY AND WHITE (classic, mackerel) : white with portions of red tabby.

SILVER TABBY (classic, mackerel) : ground color, including lips and chin, pale, clear silver. Markings dense black.

SILVER TABBY AND WHITE (classic, mackerel) : white with portions of silver tabby.

SILVER PATCHED TABBY : ground color, including lips and chin, pale silver with classic or mackerel tabby markings of dense black with patches of red and/or cream clearly defined on both body and extremities. A blaze of red and/or cream on the face is desirable.

SILVER PATCHED TABBY AND WHITE : white with portions of silver patched tabby.

SPOTTED TABBY PATTERN : markings on the body to be spotted. May vary in size and shape with preference given to round, evenly distributed spots. Spots should not run together in a broken mackerel pattern. A dorsal stripe runs the length of the body to the tip of the tail.

TABBY AND WHITE : white with colored portions, the colored portions of the cat to conform to the currently established classic, mackerel, patched, ticked and spotted tabby color standards.

TICKED TABBY PATTERN : body hairs to be ticked with various shades of marking color and ground color. Body when viewed from top to be free from noticeable spots, stripes, or blotches, except for darker dorsal shading. Lighter underside may show tabby markings.

 

 

 

BLUE TORTIE : blue-gray and cream.

BROWN TORTIE : seal brown and red; pure and bright.

CHOCOLATE TORTIE : milk chocolate and red.

LILAC TORTIE : lilac and cream.

TORTOISESHELL : black with unbrindled patches of red and cream. Patches clearly defined and well broken on both body and extremities. Blaze of red or cream on face is desirable.

CHOCOLATE TORTOISESHELL : rich chestnut brown mottled or patched with red and /or cream.

CINNAMON TORTOISESHELL : cinnamon mottled or patched with red and/or cream.

SHADED TORTOISESHELL : undercoat white. Mantle of black tipping and clearly defined patches of red and cream tipped hairs as in the pattern of the tortoiseshell.

SHELL TORTOISESHELL : undercoat white. Coat on the back, flanks head, and tail to be delicately tipped in black with well-defined patches of red and cream tipped hairs as in the pattern of the tortoiseshell.

TORTOISESHELL SMOKE : white undercoat, deeply tipped with black, red and shades of red. Cat in repose appears tortoiseshell. In motion the white undercoat is clearly apparent.

CHOCOLATE TORTOISESHELL SMOKE : white undercoat, deeply tipped with chocolate tortoiseshell. Cat in repose appears chocolate tortoiseshell. In motion the white undercoat is clearly apparent.

The colored portions conform to these currently established smoke colored standards. One or two small colored patches on body allowable.

VAN CHOCOLATE CALICO SMOKE : white cat with unbrindled patches of chocolate smoke and red smoke confined to the extremities; head, tail, and legs. one or two small colored patches on body allowable.

VAN RED TABBY AND WHITE (classic, mackerel) : to conform to the red tabby and white standard with the color confined to the extremities. One or two small colored patches on body allowable.

VAN BROWN TABBY AND WHITE (classic, mackerel) : to conform to the brown tabby and white standard with the color confined to the extremities. One or two small colored patches on body allowable.

VAN PATCHED TABBY AND WHITE (classic, mackerel) : to conform to the patched tabby and white standard with the color confined to the extremities. One or two small colored patches on body allowable.

 

 

 

BLUE MINK :  - Body : soft, blue-gray with warm overtones. - Points : slate blue, distinctly darker than the body color.

NATURAL MINK :  - Body : medium brown. Ruddy highlights acceptable. - Points : dark brown.

CHAMPAGNE MINK : - Body : buff-cream to beige. - Points : medium brown.

PLATINUM MINK : - Body : pale, silvery gray with warm overtones. Not white or cream. - Points : frosty gray, distinctly darker than the body color.

BLUE POINT : body bluish white, cold in tone, shading gradually to white on stomach and chest.

BLUE-CREAM POINT : body bluish white to platinum grey, cold in tone, shading to lighter color on stomach and chest. Body color may be mottled in older cats. - Points : deep blue-grey randomly mottled with cream; a blaze is desirable.

CHOCOLATE POINT : body ivory with no shading. - Points : milk-chocolate color, warm in tone.

CREAM POINT : body clear white with any shading in the same tone as points. - Points : pale buff cream to light pinkish cream, lack of barring desirable.

FLAME : or RED POINT

LILAC POINT : body glacial white with no shading. - Points : frosty grey with pinkish tone.

LILAC-CREAM POINT : body glacial white; mottling, if any, in the shade of the points.  Points : frosty grey with pinkish tone, uniformly mottled with pale cream; a blaze is desirable.

BLUE-CREAM LYNX POINT : body bluish white to platinum grey, cold in tone, shading to lighter color on stomach and chest. Body shading may take form of ghost striping and/or cream mottling. - Points : deep blue-grey bars, distinct and separated by lighter background color; ears deep blue-grey with paler thumbprint in center. Random mottling of cream overlays the markings of the points.

 BLUE LYNX POINT : body bluish white to platinum grey, cold in tone, shading to lighter color on stomach and chest. Body shading may take form of ghost striping. - Points : deep blue-grey bars, distinct and separated by lighter background color; ears deep blue-grey with paler thumbprint in center.

CHOCOLATE LYNX POINT : body ivory. Body shading may take form of ghost striping. - Points : warm milk-chocolate bars, distinct and separated by lighter background color; ears warm milk-chocolate with paler thumbprint in center.

CHOCOLATE-TORTIE LYNX POINT : body ivory. Body shading may take form of ghost striping and/or cream mottling. - Points : warm milk-chocolate bars, distinct and separated by lighter background color; ears warm milk-chocolate with paler thumbprint in center. Random mottling of red and/or cream overlays the markings of the points.

CREAM LYNX POINT : body clear white. Body shading may take form of ghost striping. Points : bars of pale buff cream to light pinkish cream, distinct and separated by lighter background color; ears pale buff cream to light pinkish cream, paler thumbprint in center.

FLAME LYNX POINT : or RED LYNX POINT

LILAC-CREAM LYNX POINT : body glacial white. Body shading may take form of ghost striping or ticking and/or cream mottling. - Points : frosty grey with pinkish tone bars, distinct and separated by lighter background color; ears frosty grey with pinkish tone, paler thumbprint in center. Variable mottling of cream overlays the markings of the points. - Nose leather : lavender-pink permitted.

LILAC LYNX POINT : body glacial white. Body shading may take form of ghost striping. Points : frosty grey with pinkish tone bars, distinct and separated by lighter background color; ears frosty grey with pinkish tone, paler thumbprint in center.

LILAC-CREAM LYNX POINT : body glacial white. Body shading may take form of ghost striping and/or cream mottling. - Points : frosty grey with pinkish tone bars, distinct and separated by lighter background color; ears frosty grey with pinkish tone, paler thumbprint in center. Random mottling of cream overlays the markings of the points.

RED LYNX POINT or FLAME LYNX POINT : body white. Body shading may take form of ghost striping. Points: deep red bars, distinct and separated by lighter background color; ears deep red, paler thumbprint in center.

SEAL LYNX POINT : body cream or pale fawn, shading to lighter color on stomach and chest. Body shading may take form of ghost striping. - Points : seal brown bars, distinct and separated by lighter background color; ears seal brown with paler thumbprint in center.

RED POINT or FLAME : body clear white with any shading in the same tone as points.  Points : bright apricot to deep red.

SEAL POINT : body even pale fawn to cream, warm in tone, shading gradually into lighter color on the stomach and chest. - Points : deep seal brown.

CHOCOLATE-TORTIE POINT : body ivory, may be mottled in older cats. - Points : warm milk-chocolate randomly mottled with red and/or cream; a blaze is desirable.
 

SEAL-TORTIE POINT : body pale fawn to cream, shading to lighter color on stomach and chest. Body color may be mottled with cream in older cats. - Points : seal brown, randomly mottled with red and/or cream; a blaze is desirable.
 

SEAL-TORTIE LYNX POINT : Body cream or pale fawn, shading to lighter color on stomach and chest. Body shading may take form of ghost striping or ticking and/or cream mottling. - Points : seal brown bars, distinct and separated by lighter background color; ears seal brown with paler thumbprint in center. Variable mottling of red and /or cream overlays the markings of the points.
